Because of Covid we decided not to go to France, postponing it for the second time this year.
Instead we went back to Wales again. I love visiting this country its truly beautiful.
We stayed in a converted railway wagon, one of three on site with its own small kitchen and bathroom inside…perfect. It was comfy, cosy and had stunning views. I was in my element with the horses and goats right outside the door, I would have loved to have stayed longer or just moved in! 😊
Day 1
We went to watch the red kite feeding at Rhayader. This was awesome! I love all animals and nature and this was an amazing sight. The sky was a cloud of kites and the odd buzzard. It was beautiful and strangely peaceful.
Day 2
A walk around Builth, and obviously to the charity shops, we found a lovely little antique shop where we bought a vintage fire extinguisher for my firefighter husband (it’s the only ‘old stuff’ he likes!! 😊)We took a walk by the river for an hour or so hoping to find a geocache but it had been moved and a house built in its spot ☹ We would like to go back and walk the whole river route.

Day 3
Last day ☹ we went to the Bicycle Museum in Llandridod Wells. A very interesting place, well worth a visit. They have over 250 bikes on display. My favourites were the 1930’s and 40’s bikes, like my reproduction I have at home, also the display of choppers and Raleighs. There were also a few unusual ones including one with a hammock seat and one with a bamboo frame. After we took a walk around the lake and had lunch on the balcony watching the ducks and swans. A very pretty, relaxing place.
The last thing we did was take a walk to the Rock Park Spa. A little hidden gem that if we hadn’t have been looking for the geocache we wouldn’t have found.
It was a very enjoyable few days and not too far from home, we look forward to visiting again (especially to see the horses). A lady in the street complimented me on my red polka dress and hair flower, this definitely shows you should STAY VINTAGE xx

Love the photos!
